  1. We're rained out here in the lower part of Ontario, but not too wet to scamper through today's offering from C&R. I haven't discerned much of a theme except there are a lot of homonyms and anagrams (some cute hidden ones as well).
Best of luck to all! Solution will be posted later today.

  2. Here is the solution to this week’s puzzle from Cox&Rathvon. This week was especially easy, it seemed to be a repeat of a past puzzle. I call this one “The future is in the cards?” from 18a, 23a, and to the suit references. Thanks to Rohit for spotting the theme.
Thank you to Falcon for the early posting.

  3. Quibble, I know, but Picasso had no interest in abstract art whatsoever.

    1. I know some do not regard Wikipedia to be an authoritative source, but here is what it has to say in regards to the relationship between abstract art and Cubism (the school of art with which Picasso is associated), "Both geometric abstraction and lyrical abstraction are often totally abstract. Among the very numerous art movements that embody partial abstraction would be for instance fauvism in which color is conspicuously and deliberately altered vis-a-vis reality, and cubism, which alters the forms of the real life entities depicted.".
