Saturday, July 27, 2019 — Down East Reveal

Introduction

A big 20d to Henry for providing the solution to today's puzzle from Cox & Rathvon.

The title of today's post is inspired by the 11a and 27a duo.

I invite you to leave a comment to let us know how you fared with the puzzle.

Signing off for this week — Falcon

  1. Good morning all! Many thanks for posting, Falcon - and hope 19a doesn't describe your situation!
It must be summer. Today's offering from C&R continues last week's easiness for us. Lots of hidden clues and anagrams to help you on your way.
I really liked 17d, and 29a proved to be a twist.
Good luck to all - and get that cooler filled, Falcon. Solution coming shortly.

  2. I seemed to work this one from the bottom up today, which is appropriate, as C&R didn't give us any reversals. I laughed at 13a, and, like Henry, really liked 17d when the cross letters revealed its secret.

    Last in was 1 a.

Another pleasant puzzle this fine Saturday. Not too taxing. Have a good weekend!

  4. Straightforward, except having trouble parsing 24d. I know I'm tense because I'm missing something obvious!

    1. Ah yes, good ole 24d. I took time of action to refer to verb tenses - like past, present and future tense. Of course, I've been known to not always get the parsing right...

    2. That's how I parsed it: as a double definition.

  5. An enjoyable puzzle this morning. 17d was my last solution but as with Chris, once I had 19 across, it fell into place.
