Straightforward puzzle today. A couple of AHA! Moments, particularly in 5d and 25a. Was lead down the garden path for a while with 24a, but soon got it figured out.
ReplyDeleteGood morning,
ReplyDeletePleasant puzzle from C & R today. Too bad they couldn't get 'new' into 27a for another west coast town. I don't think the answer to 3 down means misgivings. Have a good weekend!
Peter
Good morning to all the deep thinkers today! My printer refused to be recognized, so I did the puzzle in photoshop which takes a lot longer printing in all the text. Argh!
ReplyDeleteI didn't think 24a was a good definition for scrupulous, but it fits the wordplay. 3d though was ok for me for the definition. Worked my way across the top and down the right side to end up in the lower left hand corner with 22a the last in. Interesting cryptic definition for 22d that I got just as I was writing this sentence.
Falcon - are you still on vacation? If so, I can post the solution in a day or so.
Henry
Being from this area of B.C., I knew the answer, but like the postings above, still could not understand what "scrupulous" or "judge" had to do with it. Breezed through it today.
ReplyDeleteSydney - the judge's conclusion is the last letter in judge.
DeleteLike Sydney, I am from the same "Howe Sound Town", which made 24a quite fun.
DeleteHello Falcon and fellow puzzlers,
ReplyDeleteI didn't get too many of the answers on first read-through but was able to chip away and solve without any assistance. Guess it was the west coast's turn this week ;)
Upper right gave me the most trouble. My favourite was 15d.
Thank you for posting Falcon. Have a nice weekend all.
Cheers,
MG
Hello Falcon and all,
ReplyDeleteAfter an unpromising go at the Acrosses, I was able to get some solid footing in the Downs and was on my way. As usual, it took me too long to see one of the anagrams (1d). I liked 6d.
