Signing off for today — Falcon
Hello from NYC where yesterday the temperatures were in the 90s and tonight they’re predicted to drop to the 50s. I guess it’s not quite summer yet.
ReplyDeleteI kept hearing a Ring-a-Ding as I worked through this one. Nicely done C&R.
LOI was 4d because I had to correct spelling of 9a.
19d has to be a favorite for any cryptic solver, no?
Enjoyed the anagram/container combination of 3a. The anagram of 8d was ingenious. 7d was clever.
Have a good weekend and week ahead everyone. Falcon, thanks for your efforts every week.
Richard
Good morning from a mini-heatwave in Winnipeg - a forecast of 27 degrees today, 36 tomorrow, and 29 on Monday.
ReplyDeleteWell, how many synonyms of ring (of a bell) can one cram into one crossword - I think today's answer is four.
Appealing clues were 3a, 31a, 5d, 7d, and 18d.
Thanks to C&R for the fun and to Falcon for his usual sterling efforts.
Hello Falcon and friends,
ReplyDeleteLots of claps and clangs today! Fun puzzle. Thought 4d was cute and 25d made me nostalgic for one of my favourite cartoons growing up. Believe it or not, 19d was my LOI!
Thank you for posting Falcon. Have a nice cool weekend everyone!
Cheers,
MG
Still waiting for your warmth to reach us but plenty of sun. Lots of appealing, chuckleworthy clues today such as 19d and 30a. LOI 26a but once the song came to mind..... Always a pleasure.
ReplyDeleteToday's offering from C&R was sound as a bell. Although I did feel like MG's favourite (25d) quite a few times trying to decipher the clues. LOI was 3a as was trying to clear the ringing from my ears (I have tinnitus, which got worse after tackling this puzzle)/
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cool weather here in Mississuga. Enjoy the weekend everyone! Thanks Falcon and see you bext week.
