Introduction

Here is today's puzzle from Cox & Rathvon. The posting is a bit late this week as it is being done from my hospital bed. I don't promise a solution anytime soon.

    Hi Falcon! I just logged on and saw the posts. I, too, wish you a speedy recovery. I hope it isn't too serious. And thanks so much for posting!
    I saw that the last few days were not posted and I hoped it wasn't anything too ssevere.

    I hope your hospital stay is a positive experience. The puzzle is peppered with the names of punctuation marks. The setters manage to obscure the theme, while revealing just enough to make decipherable clues. My imitation:

    To help you get better - here is the solution to this week’s puzzle.
    I call it:
    Punctual Punctuation? (because we were late in posting the puzzle!)

    ACROSS
    1a D|ASH D=Down shortform, ASH=a tree
    3a BR|ACES BR=British shortform, ACES=expert's
    9a VIRGULE* Anagram (shifting) on GIVE URL. A virgule is a slash indicating use either of the two choices depending on context (e.g. his/her)
    10a PER CE|NT Percé is a tourist town in Quebec, NT is the postal shortform for Northwest Territories
    11a SEMICOLON* Anagram (moved) on ONCE LIMOS
    12a COM(M)A or CO(M)MA M=Medium in clothes size, contained in (in) COMA=unconscious state
    13a NUMBER cryptic interpretation of something that feels more numb
    15a AS(TERIS)K ASK=inquire, contains (about) TERI'S=Teri Hatcher, an American actress, writer, presenter and singer.
