Introduction
Despite being out of reach of my Tool Chest, I was able to solve all but one clue. As for many of the Brits, that last remaining clue was 14d. When I arrived home, I searched for words matching the checking letters - and found only two possibilities. At that point, the rather uncommon meaning of the word "plane" finally hit me.
