Introduction
Today I expect to be travelling somewhere in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland where I may or may not have Internet access. If and when I have the opportunity to post the puzzle, I will do so. However, in the meantime, the forum is open for discussion.I invite you to leave a comment to let us know how you fared with the puzzle.
Post Script
I spent the weekend in Derry-Londonderry, Northern Ireland. The Internet access at our B&B quit on Friday and never returned so I was unable to post the puzzle until now. Here is the June 3 puzzle from Cox & Rathvon.Signing off for now — Falcon

ReplyDeleteFortunately, we have a fairly straightforward puzzle today. Had to look up ski turns for 2d, but otherwise no problems.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip in beautiful Ireland, Falcon.
We are enjoying a perfect June day here in London, Ontario.
Good morning,
ReplyDeleteMost of this went straight in for me. I too was held up a bit by 2d. Two are posing a problem for me: the answer to 20d seems obvious but I can't parse it; 15d so far has me beaten.
The Giant's Causeway in NI is well worth a look Falcon if you get up that way. I hope you have a terrific holiday!
Weather is indeed perfect here in London, Ontario.
Have a good day all!
Peter
@Peter
Delete20d would seem to be outlaw; parsing for the other half we have a gang followed by the person who is sought in a game of hide and seek and has the label ...
15d - I did look up the pool ball names. After the cross letters are in, the answer follows. Parses as what cats cough up eating an orange.
Thanks Carl. I always for get about "it" connexion to hide-and-seek.
DeleteThe answer you suggest did occur to me but oouldn't make out the reference to orange. I think the answer is a different colour.
Safe travels, Falcon!
ReplyDeleteI haven't found a way access the puzzle anywhere else online so will just wish everyone else happy puzzling and a good weekend.
Hi Carola!
Deletee-mail me at 4470tucanact@gmail.com
and I can send you (or anyone else) a pdf of the puzzle.
Henry
Henry, thank you! I have done so.
DeleteHi everyone!
ReplyDeleteI picked up a copy of the Post and finished off the puzzle. I have an answer for 24d but can't figure out how it parses (I am using 'took a drag' as the primary indicator).
Henry
Hi Henry,
DeleteI think you have the right definition. The clue is a word for 'excited' (used by snowboarders amongst others) minus its first letter (after commencement).
Thanks, Peter. I hadn't thought of that word. Good call.
DeleteHi again, all,
ReplyDeleteThis one was enjoyably "just right" for me - offering some resistance but doable in the end. I had to rely on pattern recognition for 2d and spent some time on after-the-fact parsing on17a, 26a and 20d.
Hello Falcon and company,
ReplyDeleteThank you to Henry who provided me the PDF. Lots of games being played here and pretty easy puzzle overall. The only one that I had to look up was 2d - definitely a new word for me.
Happy travels Falcon!
Cheers,
MG
